The Newport Jacket features Helly Tech®, a waterproof/ breathable outer layer between you and the elements. Its unique membrane stops water molecules going in, but lets moisture molecules escape. Keeping you dry from the outside and comfortable on the inside. This high performance technical barrier protects you from highly challenging, changing and unpredictable weather conditions. A Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment prevents dampness from seeping through by lowering the surface tension of the fabric so water beads up on the outer layer and runs off. Seams are fully sealed and the center front zipper has a single storm flap so water won't just squeeze through these vulnerable areas.
But wait, there's more to this lightweight sailing jacket! The Newport Jacket features a quick deploy, adjustable hood with hi-visibility fabric for extra safety and a YKK QuickBurst® zipper for quick access. Stealth cuffs and a one-handed adjustable waist stop intrusion from wind and water. A mesh lining allows for quick drying inside should your jacket experience a dunking. The high fleece collar feels good against your skin. For convenience, hand warmer pockets are found behind the front cargo pockets that are large enough to hold a handheld VHF radio, PLB or essential tools. The sleeves feature an articulated cut so your jacket will move with you for active sailing. Finally, SOLAS reflective patches make sure you can be seen in low-light conditions. 100% polyamide. Imported.
